“How beautiful the leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days” – ✍️ John Burroughs

Today was another perfect day to appreciate the warm colors in the forest. We discovered the gorges of the Avançon in Bex, Vaud.

We did a short but lovely 3km hike following the river which has its source in the Martinets glacier. After reaching Frenières-sur-Bex, we walked back on the main road. Traffic is very light, but I would have preferred if there was a loop through the forest.

It’s an easy walk, but at this time of the year it can get slippery with the humid soil and the leaves falling down. This is apparently a great spot in summer too as you can cool down in the fresh water.
