This weekend we went for an e-bike tour with our buddies. We chose the Lac de Mayen path (Nbr 592). It is an easily, accessible, 11 km loop along forest paths and across meadows.

The itinerary starts at Leysin village, leading immediately uphill to the Lac de Mayen (540m elevation). After passing the Carrière de Chamois, you cycle along a forest road that offers a panoramic view of the Diablerets Glacier and Pic Chaussy before reaching the destination at an altitude of 1,848m.
The miniature lake is located at the foot of the Tours, the emblematic mountains of Leysin.

There is a little restaurant up by the Tours; unfortunately we couldn’t stay to eat as they were very busy (it was a fantastic sunny day inviting lots of visitors).

There are plenty of picnic spots and if you’re lucky, you can observe the marmots and ibex living in the rocks. We couldn’t see them but we did heard their yelling.
A short segment of the way back is more challenging, but after that, it’s an easy road till Leysin village.
