During our short stay in Flims-Laax we did a lot of ebiking, including a 12km easy ride into the fairy-tale Flims forest.
Naturally, we stopped for a dip into one of my favorite Swiss lakes.
Known as “Lag la Cauma” in the Romansh language, meaning ‘lake siesta’, Lake Cauma is the jewel of the Grison’s canton.
Whether you are on foot or by bike, a detour to the beautiful lake is the perfect complement to your trip. Lake Cauma is located in the heart of the Flimserwald and impresses above all with its striking turquoise-green and pleasantly cool water : in summer the water temperature is between 17 and 24 degrees Celsius as it is fed by an underground spring making it a little warmer than other alpine lakes. Swimming in Lake Cauma simply belongs on every summer bucket list for holidays in Flims Laax Falera!
The restaurant with terrace and separate lounge is located directly at the idyllic lake.
The entrance is payable, but the fee is totally worth it.
