Yesterday we took the bikes up in a cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp. From there, we biked to Mürren. The path is mostly flat, easy, car-free and provides astonishing views.
We parked the bikes in Mürren and took another cable car up to Schilthorn station at 2,970m offering a 360-degree panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and more than 200 other peaks.

The Schilthorn became famous as a location for the 1969 James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. The revolving restaurant at the summit, which rotates around its own axis once every 45 minutes, owes its current name Piz Gloria to the film production. Interested visitors can follow in James Bond’s footsteps in the interactive Bond World exhibition (indoors) or on the 007 Walk of Fame (outdoors).

Don’t forget to stop at the middle station Birg and it’s famous Thrill Walk (see dedicated post).

After coming back from Schilthorn, we biked down all the way to Lauterbrunnen.
