We have come to Mathod (in the north of Lausanne) several times when the strawberry season arrives usually in June. Here you can do self-picking and eat for free as many strawberries as you can. Then you pay per kg what you bring home with you. The fields are really big; when you arrive, you are assigned a specific line from which you can harvest. Make sure to contact them before going to confirm that the season is open. Last time we couple this with a nice bike tour next to the massive salad and cereal fields. There are lots of lovely poppies all around. My friend made for us a strawberry cheesecake and I decorated it with my strawberries.
