This Saturday we visited St. Ursanne, also known as the Pearl of the Jura and officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland.

Nestled in an unspoilt natural setting on the banks of the Doubs river in the canton of Jura (bordering France), the small medieval town of Saint-Ursanne has preserved its treasures.

The little village boasts a remarkable historic heritage, including the collegiate church and cloister dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, respectively.

When you cross the medieval bridge of Saint-Ursanne you will be struck by the beauty of the surroundings.

The centre of the village can be reached by three fortified gates. Inside multicolored houses, fountains and cobblestone narrow streets give a very charming note to this medieval peaceful town.
