Staying overnight in an igloo at 2,000m above the sea level? – BE

Such a unique experience was in my bucket list, and we were lucky to find last minute availability this weekend in Gstaad.

24 hours full of exciting moments including amazing skiing ⛷, night snowshoeing, breathtaking views, a starry night sky ✨, delicious fondue 🫕 and lots of fresh cold air 🥶❄️.

Ohhh yes, it was COLD. Not so much during the sleep as the sleeping bags are designed for -40°C, but outside and even at the restaurant it’s really really cold.

Good thing, there’s a lovely hut with a wood fireplace and a sauna to heat up. Also an outside jacuzzi which we didn’t use. Just the thought of getting out at -10° was a bit crazy 😜.

Despite the cold and a rather short night, we had such a lovely time playing board games and having great laughs around the cozy fireplace. And the early skiing at sunrise before the crowds get up was priceless for my 2 boys.

I have to admit that it’s not all comfort and it’s seriously cold, but it’s a matchless adventure that will stay in our memories forever.
