The Trient gorges are a powerful example of the erosion phenomenon. These gorges are a several hundred meter deep incision in the rocks, with the glacial torrent flowing at the bottom. They are not very long; only 600m, so the walk lasts less than 1 hour. However they are quite imposing and the rock wall formations are spectacular. Located in Vernayaz (few minutes from Martigny), they are very close to another natural attraction, the Pissevache waterfall (see dedicated post). The gorges are open every day from May to September.
