Vevey is considered as a “Pearl of the Swiss Riviera”. With the charming old town facing the lake and with lovely vineyards on its back, it makes it a popular excursion destination. You can board on one of the classy paddlewheel steamers and visit the region from a totally different perspective. Vevey offers lots of restaurants, coffees and bars. You can visit some museums too or simply walk by the lake or sit on one of the chairs planted by the rocky shore, and admire the Alpine panorama. The “FORK of Vevey” is an 8m tall stainless steel sculpture created by the Swiss artist Jean-Pierre Zaug to mark the Alimentarium’s 10th anniversary (which is a very didactic and interesting museum to visit). Vevey is also the home of Nestlé’s headquarter founded here in 1867.
