On our way back from Zürich we made a short stop at Lauterbrunnen in the Bern region. It is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. The very name “Lauter Brunnen” which means “Many Fountains” suggests the magnificence of this landscape. There are in total 72 waterfalls, the most famous being the Staubbach Falls plunging 300m from an overhanging rock face. The colorful alpine meadows, the secluded valleys and of course the impressive waterfalls are worth a longer stay. We will definitely return soon as we really want to see the Trummelbach Falls inside the Black Monk mountain which you can only reach in summer by a tunnel lift. So…. more to come soon 😉.
