Classified among the 10 most beautiful gorges in Europe, the Gorges of Durnand offer a stunning scenery. You walk through wooden staircases perched high in vertical rock walls overlooking a total of 14 waterfalls. You also cross short bridges that allow you to take the best shots of the gorges. Every turn of the incredible wooden balcony leads to a more extraordinary view than the one before. The Gorges themselves extend about 1km long (330 steps) and after you reach the highest point, you can go down through a lovely forest path. There is an entry paying fee to cover the regular maintenance costs. Located in the village of Bovernier over Martigny in Valais. Opened from May till October.
